Eye Clinic

The eye clinic is equipped with a good standard of diagnostic equipment: slit lamps, direct and indirect fundoscopy, automated refractometer, manual systems of lenses for refraction, perimetry (visual field) and other devices. The unit is capable of diagnosing diseases of the conjunctivae, the eye-lids, the cornea, the anterior and posterior chamber, the lenses, the eye-ball and the vitreous body, and of the retina. A correct prescription of glasses for myopic, hyperopic and patients with astigmatism is intended – and ready-made glasses as well as spectacles individually made on order are available in the unit.

The theatre has its own operating room for ophthalmology equipped with a quality operation-microscope and up-to-date standard machines. In the first line reliable cataract surgery is offered there.

Our services include:

Diabetic retinopathy

High blood glucose can weaken the walls of blood vessels in the eyes.  The weak blood vessels form pouches called microaneurysms which can become leaky and release blood, fat, and fluid in the retinal tissues.  This can result in blurry vision.  Leakage in the central retina will cause it to swell, called macular oedema.

Pediatrics eye care

Vision can be assessed from the time a child is born.  Specialized techniques and tests are used for children who cannot read.  We use scientifically tested picture charts.  Babies are born with very poor vision.  The vision develops until the child is 8 years old.  It is important that any eye disease is detected before the age of 8 years.

    Cataract and Intraocular lens implant

The lens are implanted in the eye as part of the treatment for cataracts. Most cataracts develop when aging or injury changes the tissue that makes up the eye’s lens. Proteins and fibers in the lens begin to break down, causing vision to become cloudy.

    Myopia Control

Myopia is on the rise for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, an increase in near-work demands and decrease in time outdoors. People with moderate to high myopia, have an increased risk of eye diseases including peripheral retinal degeneration, retinal detachments, myopic maculopathy, choroidal neovascular membrane and glaucoma. For treatment, patients are offered low dose atropine, specially designed contact lenses and spectacles.
